People of the Tiger

We went to the cemetery in the woods outside the vilalge to see the graves of Svetana’s mother, Nina, and Svetlana’s daughter, Oxana, who died at age 1 of meningitis. The cemetery is located in the woods. Svetlana’s sister, Vala, and her nephew, Sergey, lit a fire to create smoke to discourage the mosquitoes. Svetlana weeded Oxana’s gravesite and left her some cookies and candy for her and also some food for her mother.
